    Job Description:

    Summary:
    The person in this position will work with multidisciplinary project teams primarily serving mining clients.

    This person must have experience in civil engineering design and analysis related to site layout, grading and drainage, mass earthwork, etc.

    Work will involve technical assignments such as design with CADD modeling software, preparation of construction plans and specifications, spreadsheet preparation, site development design, report writing, large-report preparation, construction cost estimating, construction observation, and facility inspection.

    Assignments may also include working with permitting agencies and public officials.

    Administrative responsibilities also included in this strategic role may involve business development, project management, team building, project planning, and scheduling.

    This person will also have the opportunity to serve as a mentor to junior and mid-level engineers to grow their civil engineering expertise.

    The work may require travel for short-term, out-of-town work assignments.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in civil engineering

    Five or more years of related work experience

    Professional engineer (PE) certification or ability to obtain certification within one year

    Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Civil 3D, and computer simulation modeling

    Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

    Willingness to work in a project team environment that encourages self-initiative and cross-office collaboration

    Flexible working style as required to meet project deadlines and/or client needs

    Acceptable driving record

    Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience working in consulting engineering

    Proven project management experience

    Strong relationships with clients and the ability to develop or foster ongoing relationships and maintain a high level of client service

    A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position

    NOTE:

    Some work locations will feature the rough terrain typical of construction sites or require lifting or moving field testing equipment.

    Safety training will be provided prior to being given work assignments on these sites. Applicants may be asked to participate in a drug screening program at the request of specific clients.
