Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Passaic and Union Counties is a nonprofit organization based in Wayne, NJ and with satellite offices in Elizabeth.

CASA champions the best interests of children in the child welfare system by recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers from the community to be appointed to a specific child or sibling group by a Family Court Judge.

CASA provides high-quality advocacy services to abused and neglected youth in the child welfare and family court system. We are committed to serving every child in need of an advocate.

You have the opportunity to join this dynamic and powerful organization as a full-time Advocacy Case Supervisor covering both Passaic and Union counties.

The Advocacy Case Supervisor manages CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) volunteers to ensure that abused and neglected children in the foster care system receive effective advocacy and permanency planning.

Additionally, the Advocacy Case Supervisor will assist the Outreach Coordinator and training team with the recruitment, screening, and training of bilingual community volunteers as needed.

Our staff is a tight-knit team of highly driven individuals who are committed to the mission of the organization. Each team member is responsible for his or/her responsibilities but also has ownership of the overall organizational success.

Our Advocacy Supervisors are from diverse backgrounds and are the key professional support for our volunteer advocates.

Our staff has worked as law guardians, prosecutors, child welfare workers, and teachers, in law firms, in customer service, in healthcare, in volunteer management, and a wide range of social service positions.

All advocacy supervisors bring a deep passion for the children we serve and the volunteers that support them.


Requirements:


  • Must have excellent computer skills, writing skills, and attention to detail;
  • A background in volunteerism;
  • This is a fulltime, exempt, 40+ hours per week position with some night and weekend hours required. Flexibility is key to successful employment at CASA which leads to a healthy worklife balance.

Responsibilities:


  • Ensure that children assigned to CASAs receive the advocacy they need;
  • Ensure that the needs of the volunteers are met and that the volunteers are satisfied;
  • Promote the mission of CASA in the community.
