Overview:


The Maitre'd responsible Promotes an overall enjoyable dining experience; promotes a clean, safe and neat environment for guests and associates.

The Maitre'd will provide support to management and team members with food or beverage running, reservation planning, and guest experience.


Responsibilities:


  • Promptly and warmly greets guests and accompanies them to their tables based on availability or desired seating arrangements. Oversees guest flow within the restaurant.
  • Manages the reservations system.
  • Advises guests on menu and beverage selections.
  • Liaise between kitchen staff and dining room staff.
  • Exhibits exceptional communications skills and ability to get along well with others; demonstrates flexibility, patience, and a willingness to communicate with guests and staff.
  • Supervises the activities of foodservice associates in the dining room to ensure proper customer service, food handling and sanitation procedures are followed.
  • Makes special occasion arrangements for guests; promotes special inhouse events.
  • Helps train new foodservice team members and provides ongoing customerservice training.
  • Supervises the closing of the assigned dining room; ensures servers complete side work and station setup.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of emergency safety procedures; assists with evacuation of guests to safety in the event of an emergency.
  • Helps bus tables and serve foo/beverages when necessary while maintaining safe foodhandling and sanitation standards.
  • May operate equipment, including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines.
  • Works with staff of other departments to perform job duties during special events or functions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience and training, college degree preferred.
  • Two years' experience, preferably in the hospitality industry or a marketing / sales field.
  • Experience with CRM platforms.
  • Expertise in social media
  • Background in music industry a plus
  • Presentation of a professional image to guests, clients, and potential function coordinators.
  • Composure during stressful events.
  • Possession of a take charge attitude tempered with diplomacy.
  • Ability to work independently while ensuring that managers and/or clients possess the pertinent information for the execution of a successful event.
  • Must possess strong communication and listening skills, excellent reading and writing.
  • Comprehend professional language, either written or spoken, to communicate.
  • Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Multiple language abilities a plus, fluency in English required.
  • Ability to move throughout the hotel during visits (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to make repeating movements of the arms and hands
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound
  • Manual dexterity, handeye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders.
  • Ability to occasionally, regularly, frequently move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 10 lbs
  • Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy sounds
  • Ability to travel via auto or airplane for long periods of time

Additional Details:
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Secondary school degree preferred and/or previous work experience in service for at least 3 year.

SKILLS

  • Ability to comprehend and use basic language, either written or spoken, to communicate information and ideas.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to perform numerical operations using basic counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Fluency in English: additional languages preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to move throughout the business (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound
by ear.
