Job Summary:
  • The Scheduler-Rehab Core manages and coordinates all rehab service area appointments within inpatient services, outpatient services, and multi-disciplinary clinics.
  • Collaborates with different departments and schedules team, department, and Rehab Institute wide meetings.
  • Completes check-in and registration processes, notifies providers of patient arrivals, maintains phone queues professionally, performs billing audits, and communicates effectively with providers and management.
  • May offer administrative support for the Inpatient Intake Case Management team and participate in a weekend rotation schedule.
  • Performs various other duties as required.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum one year of call center experience in customer service, sales, or clinical field.
  • Preferred minimum three years of healthcare customer service call center experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to write legibly and take messages.
  • Proficient in using the telephone and good communication skills, including telephone etiquette.
  • Typing speed of 30 to 40 words per minute.
  • Proficient in English and Spanish (preferred), computer software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Capable of operating basic office and patient care equipment, handling patient care activities, communicating effectively, working under pressure, managing workload, problem-solving, and paying attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision, distinguish colors, hear and identify various sounds, and see adequately to read documents.
