    Summary

    The Department of the Interior focuses on safeguarding and conserving the nation's natural resources, such as National Parks, Landmarks, and the welfare of various communities, including Native American, Alaska Natives, and related Islanders.

    Duties

    This role is situated within the Department of the Interior, the Business Integration Office under the Office of the Secretary, based in Lakewood, Colorado, or Reston, Virginia.

    At the full performance level (GS-13), the key responsibilities for this position entail, but are not confined to the following:
    • Propose improvements and adjustments to automated core finance software for various financial functions to adapt to the evolving needs of the Department of the Interior's financial management team.
    • Collaborate with financial systems analysts, developers, stakeholders, and users to accurately outline suggested modifications and enhancements within a structured software governance structure and change management process.
    • Provide business process design and automated solutions to ensure accurate transaction recording, internal controls, and reconciliation at all levels.
    • Supervise and synchronize core finance operations within assigned areas to uphold program integrity, operational efficiency, and compliance with Federal regulations.
    • Develop well-documented instructions for end users to optimize their utilization of financial systems while complying with DOI and Federal regulations and policies.
    • Engage efficiently with functional and technical resources within the ERP solution and external business partners to support various financial aspects and produce a precise enterprise solution.
    The Office of the Secretary has confirmed that this position is eligible for telecommuting, subject to supervisor approval.

    Salary Information
    GS-11: $80,665 - $104,861 annually (Lakewood, CO) / $82,764 - $107,590 annually (Reston, VA)
    GS-12: $96,684 - $125,685 annually (Lakewood, CO) / $99,200 - $128,956 annually (Reston, VA)
    GS-13: $114,970 - $149,465 annually (Lakewood, CO) / $117,962 - $153,354 annually (Reston, VA)
    First-time federal hires typically commence at the lower salary range of the grade level.
