LOCATION OF POSITION: LANGDON, NORTH DAKOTA

Fischer Land Surveying & Engineering of Langdon, ND is looking for a motivated self-starter who is looking to join our team with the possibility of advancement within our company. We primarily serve NE ND and NW MN but have also done work across the state of ND. We have continued to grow our client base and projects over the past 28 years, striving to provide the most accurate and quality services for our clients. We are a small company where every employee plays an important role. This position will work in both public and private sectors providing topographic, boundary/cadastral, construction, ALTA, As-built, land development, easement, residential, farmstead, lake lots and commercial surveying. In addition, we do other engineering projects such as site design and layout for convenience stores, agricultural facilities and commercial buildings. LSIT will work under the direct supervision of a Licensed Surveyor.

The advantage of working for a small firm is you get to take a project from conception to construction. Applicant will be performing a wide variety of different types of surveys which is both rewarding and challenging. Overnight travel is extremely rare, which makes this desirable for any individual with a family or for individuals who are tired of excessive overnight travel. This position is an excellent opportunity that may lead to a more prominent role as a Survey Party Chief which would include becoming responsible for bidding projects, overseeing, scheduling and managing the daily operations of multiple survey crews.

    • Delegates survey tasks to other survey technicians under his/her direct supervision and perform quality control checks of their data. Instruct, train and mentor survey technicians.
    • Participate in pre-survey planning meetings with the Survey Party Chief on a consistent basis by providing updates and progress during all phases.
    • Ensure schedules and productivity objectives are achieved.
    • Ensure survey vehicle is supplied with stakes, flagging, lath, etc.
    • Responsible for keeping track of oil changes or routine maintenance due on survey vehicle or UTV in advance so they can be scheduled for maintenance in a timely manner.
    • This job description is not meant to be all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.
