- Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and analysis, and provide timely and accurate financial information to management for decision-making.
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries, to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Process and review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoice verification, vendor and customer communication, and collections.
- Prepare and file various tax forms
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, and provide financial analysis and insights to support management decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including finance team members, project managers, vendors, and customers, to resolve accounting issues, answer inquiries, and provide financial support as needed.
- Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and best practices.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry trends, and provide recommendations for process improvements and efficiency gains.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the construction or contracting industry.
- Solid knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Proficient in using accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Excel, and other financial management tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Professionalism and integrity in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Knowledge of construction accounting and job costing is a plus.
