Role Overview:

As a Gas and Diesel Mechanic at First Student, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing Gas Chevy Type A's and Diesel IC Type C school buses to ensure vehicle readiness and safety. Your primary duties will include:

Conducting preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections
Diagnosing and performing vehicle and equipment repairs
Ensuring accurate completion of work orders
Assisting with mobile emergency services

Qualifications for Gas and Diesel Technician:

Valid driver's license required; Willingness to obtain CDL while employed – Training provided
1-3 years of automotive or diesel maintenance experience or technical school education
Possession of a mechanic's tool set
Willingness to participate in the ASE certification program
Subject to DOT drug testing per safety regulations
