Description
Responsibilities:
- Complete and execute purchase orders for all departments and monitoring through receipt.
- Procure MRPdriven requirements in an efficient manner following operational directives on inventory turns, service levels, and cost savings. Use planning and forecasting tools (MRP, spreadsheets, and/or reorder point systems) to order production parts per schedule.
- Develops and enhances relationships with strategic supplier/partners. Serves as primary contact and fosters positive and mutually beneficial relationship with suppliers.
- Determine supplier cost elements and assist in negotiation of purchase contracts.
- Maintain Device Master and Supplier History file integrity.
- Work with Suppliers, Manufacturing and Product Development to ensure material quality, adequate supplier selection and manufacturability.
- Ensure Purchase Order discrepancies are investigated and addressed appropriately with Quality and/or affected departments. Assist with nonconforming material investigations.
- Determine and maintain optimized levels of inventory to meet planned inventory and production goals. Regularly meet with inventory management and engineering teams to communicate concerns.
- Locate suppliers, participate in supplier evaluation/audit activity and recommend supplier(s) of choice that best support purchasing strategic goals.
- Monitor supplier performance in ontime delivery, quality, and response time performance, determine corrective actions (as needed), and follow up to ensure maximum supplier performance.
- Coordinate communications between suppliers and all departments (Manufacturing, Quality, Accounting, and Product Development).
- Communicate engineering changes to suppliers, and confirm their understanding.
- Assist in oversight of stock room procedures and processes as well as completion of day to day tasks.
- Assist, when needed, on other miscellaneous operational tasks within the supply chain department.
Requirements:
- 25 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably Life Sciences.
- 4 year college degree in supply chain, operations, engineering, or management
- Excellent listening and communication skills (verbally and electronically).
- Attention to detail and ability to follow quality procedures.
- Ability to read/interpret drawings (i.e. dimensions, tolerances, and QC notes) and communicate component specifications to suppliers.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fastpaced medical device startup environment.
- Contract negotiation and management skills.
- Ability to source and develop new suppliers.
- Experience with contract manufacturers.
- Supplier relations skills.
- Indepth knowledge of MRP (Great Plains Dynamics preferred).
