Position Purpose:

This Assessor would have the ability to complete both the substance abuse and the mental health assessments with compliance to both State Rule 2060 (for Substance Use Services) and Rule 132 (for Mental Health Services).

The Assessor would have the ability to triage the participant and make a timely recommendation to the court regarding which Problem Solving Court.

The Assessor to work with those participants who are involved with Drug Court, Family Drug Court and TIP Court.**
Summary: Provide comprehensive diagnostic assessment, and determining medically necessary service needs of client.

Clients not meeting criteria for suspected mental illness will be linked with appropriate services in the community. The goal for all clients is to meet their clinical needs, which will enable them to work towards recovery.


Job Requirements:


Bachelor's Degree, Masters preferred.

  • Knowledge of DSM diagnoses and appropriate criteria for each diagnosis.
  • Selfstarter with ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet Agency insurance requirements,

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Work hours prescribed by the Director and any additional hours deemed necessary for the responsibilities assigned.
  • Provide centralized diagnostic assessments that include computerized social histories, mental status, presenting problem, diagnosis, and treatment needs.
  • Determine appropriate level of care and treatment using centers utilization management criteria, develop corresponding ISP with clients, and coordinate needs with appropriate staff
  • Identify the need for immediate crisis intervention services
  • Maintain documentation per center quality assurance procedures and clinical performance standards
  • Assess client needs and strengths and establish a comprehensive plan that addresses support and treatment needs necessary for less restrictive care and stabilization to occur safely
  • Provide linkage, referrals and advocacy with community resources and community organizations
  • Cooperate with work team/center/on accomplishment of strategic objectives and activities
  • Ensure that the clinical treatment needs are met for consumers, which will enable them to work towards recovery.
  • Educate community agencies regarding services offered by Rosecrance
  • Serve as a member of the Access team and participate in all team meetings and activities.
  • Exercise confidentiality in keeping with the Code of Conduct and with the framework of the law.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
  • Serve as a role model for other staff, clients and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance
  • Assume other related responsibilities as delegated and assigned

Schedule:8-hour shifts

  • 8:30am 5:00pm
