Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Accounting Manager to join our Company. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing various accounting operations within our organization. They will be responsible for maintaining precise financial records, overseeing budgets, preparing financial reports, and ensuring adherence to tax regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a background in accounting, excellent leadership and communication abilities, and the capacity to handle multiple tasks concurrently. This individual must demonstrate strong organizational skills, be adaptable and willing to tackle additional responsibilities as required.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Ensure financial statements are accurate and compliant with GAAP and other accounting standards.

Review monthly financial statements, reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts and monitor/revise recurring monthly journal entries as needed.

Reconcile bank accounts and prepare Accounts Payable and Receivable reports.

Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages to lenders and other agencies.

Prepare 1099 reporting at year-end.

Interact with outside accounting firms.

Assist in gathering records and financial documents for annual HUD audit.

Contribute ideas and suggestions for improving functions and efficiency in the accounting process.

Assisting with ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience (preferred)

CPA is a plus

5 years accounting experience in industry or public accounting

4-year accounting degree (required)

Excellent organizational skills

Ability to multi-task and work independently

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Advanced skills with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word)

Experience working with QuickBooks and/or Buildium or other property management software is a plus.
