Position Role Type:

Perform a variety of complex functional tests and associated operations, troubleshoot using standard techniques and make repairs on various electronic, electrical and electromechanical units while practicing and complying with environmental, health and safety directions and procedures.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Work from blueprints, sales orders, unit history sheets, schematics, specification sheets, engineering changes, work books, service bulletins and other written and verbal instructions.
  • Insure that all documentation such as specifications, procedures, forms and applicable tools, gages and fixtures are quality compliant and traceable.
  • Perform appropriate inspection including process review, visual and dimensional checks and documentation compliance.
  • Perform a variety of material control and handling duties such as unloading, receiving, storing, disbursing, packaging and shipping material and equipment.
  • Prepare, maintain and monitor all necessary records such as check lists, log sheets, unit history records, routing sheets and schedules.
  • Hook up test rigs to units and associated equipment including a variety of standard and special test equipment.
  • Operate test equipment, make necessary adjustment to set up conditions of test.
  • Compute and/or record test data and plot graphs using specified formulas.
  • Order necessary parts by utilizing automated parts inventory systems.
  • Change various electronic components of variable nature to trim units insuring proper interrelationship between component values are maintained.
  • Troubleshoot units which fail to meet test specifications to determine nature of malfunction and to localize source of problem.
  • Reassemble, retest and adjust units to ensure test specifications are met.
  • Perform special tests under guidance of technical support as required.
  • Notify superior of malfunctioning equipment and/or unusual or recurring difficulties.
  • Make repairs to units such as rerouting or replacing wires or leads, resoldering or rebonding connections or replacing faulty component parts.
  • Refer units back to assembly area for major repairs and for finalization of temporary repairs made during test; make failure reports stating specific malfunction.
  • Obtain, move and expedite units, parts and material within shop to support operations.
  • Review customer service instructions to determine extent of necessary service to be performed and record on unit history. Generate documentation to determine appropriate routing of hardware.
  • Perform and maintain pointofuse inventory.
  • Verify work performed.
  • Support customers witness needs as required.
  • Perform minor and preventive maintenance such as clean or replace filters, replace light bulbs and tighten connectors and/or hardware.
  • Improve process and solve problems in cooperation with fellow employees and supervision.
  • Instruct one or two employees in proper performance of duties.
  • Keep equipment and surroundings neat, clean and organized.
  • Perform related duties as required within the scope of this job function.

Basic Qualifications:


  • 2 years of related experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Electronic Theory
  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Technology
