- Your main responsibility is the safe operation of company semi tractor-trailers or straight trucks to deliver bag and bulk feeds efficiently and punctually.
- Pick up and deliver feed products from mills and warehouses, and assist in coordinating feed deliveries.
- Adhere to proper feed sequencing and delivery procedures and maintain accurate records and documents.
- Support warehousing and customer service tasks as required.
- Comply with DOT regulations, conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintenance, transport freight safely, and communicate effectively with the dispatcher.
- Maintain good driving practices while operating company vehicles on highways.
- Assist in feed mill operations during non-delivery periods, including maintenance, housekeeping, manufacturing, and inventory tasks.
- This role demands a dedicated individual with a strong work ethic and attendance record.
- Be prepared for long hours during peak seasons and prioritize safety by following all rules and completing required training.
- Perform additional duties as instructed by the supervisor.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid CDL for the designated truck
- Background or knowledge in farming or agriculture is a plus
- Self-motivated with excellent communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Strong customer service abilities
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Interest in agriculture and cooperative work
- Physical fitness for regular standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and lifting
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Exposure to various environmental elements like dust, odors, gases, mud, and livestock waste
- Flexibility in working hours and potential involvement in loading/unloading activities at grain facilities
