As a
Bookkeeper/Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records and accounts payable and ensuring vendors are paid timely and accurately.

This position will work closely with company financial professionals and management, and outside vendors.

Your success in this role will be driven by your in-depth knowledge and understanding of Simon Eye operational areas, systems, and processes.


What You'll Do:

  • Promote confidentiality of financial and other data at all times.
  • Track company bank accounts, deposits, and balances; report regularly to management
  • Verify the accuracy of business accounts and alert finance management of errors.
  • Maintain records of financial transactions by posting and verifying.
  • Perform monthly and weekly bank reconciliations along with monitoring and recording daily bank feeds.
  • Monitor timeliness of cash/check bank deposits by each location.
  • Bill payments weekly via by checks, credit card and ACH's
  • Process and review expense reimbursement for employees.
  • Records credit card charges with proper receipts and performs monthly reconciliation of the account.
  • Responsible for Accounts Payable including reviewing and entering invoices, resolving any discrepancies, and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Maintain subsidiary accounts by posting, verifying, and allocating transactions.
  • Ensure Finance internal controls are adhered.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
  • Assist the Controller with administrative duties and preparing monthly and yearly accounts.
  • Administer centralized purchasing of office and administrative supplies.
  • Liaise with Optical Services Manager on Inventory administration and accounting.

What You'll Need:

  • Associate's Degree (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
  • 2 to 3 years bookkeeping/accounting experience, including expertise with QuickBooks Online.
  • Proficiency in accounting knowledge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and be flexible regarding workload and assignments
  • Ability to exercise judgment
  • Must be organized, flexible and dedicated to quality service delivery.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Must demonstrate integrity and ethical standards in job performance.
  • Ability to provide guidance, direction and technical support to staff.
  • This position may be required to travel to other Simon Eye locations during the business day
