Our Harco locations span across seven states in the US and we are looking for new individuals to come be a part of a dynamic and growing team todayWe currently have an exciting opportunity as a Production Manager This role is based in our plant in Lynchburg, Virginia and reports to the Plant Manager.
Job Summary The Production Manager will oversee the manufacturing process to ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently. They will work closely with the Production Supervisors and other departments to plan work and set targets.In addition, the Production Manager will monitor all products for quality assurance as efficiently as possible while adhering to corporate health and safety policies.
Principal ResponsibilitiesOversee production department personnel, including ensuring all employees are trained and up-to-date on operating procedures and new equipmentPrepare operating reports to summarize production, downtime, and variance by machine and shiftIdentify performance issues and formulate action plans to rectify problems.
Delegate responsibilities as requiredCoordinate production schedules to meet customer demands, manage overtime, minimize inventories and overall production costsEnsure production areas maintain 5SManage production department budgetMonitor production to drive improvements in safety, quality and costs of productionIdentify and resolve root causes of all non-conformances and scrap with Processing, Mold Shop, Maintenance and Quality Control departmentsDrive improvements in production standardsEnsure all production runs are in compliance with Quality requirementsManage the storage and disposal of all ancillary and process facility non-hazardous solid waste (recycled paper, cardboard, wood, plastics, regular landfill)Lead hiring of Production personnel as requiredPerform other duties as required and/or assignedQualifications & ExperienceCompletion of college and/or university in engineering, manufacturing, operations management or related field, or equivalent hands-on experienceStrong leadership experience, with proven experience in production managementExperience in strategic planning, resource allocation, employee relations, leadership techniques and coordination of people and resourcesPrior experience with ISO 9001 an assetPrior experience participating in a Health & Safety Committee is an assetProven track record of improving performance in a leadership roleTechnical understanding of production planning techniques, current quality standards, lean manufacturing and safety requirements/laws (ISO 9001, Six Sigma, 5S, etc.)Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge and ability to understand the process of machineryAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, etc.) and good general computer skills#LI-JM1IPEX is committed to providing accommodations for people with disabilities throughout the recruitment process and, upon request, will work with qualified job applicants to provide suitable accommodation in a manner that takes into account the applicant's accessibility needs due to disability.
