    Job Summary

    The Warehouse Technician aids with warehouse operations, inventory control, and fleet maintenance interfacing with internal and external "customers."

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

    • Provide high level of customer service to internal/external "customers" and all other visitors to warehouse.
    • Receipt of items in the warehouse.
    • Issue telecommunications/cable equipment and materials to designated personnel and contractors.
    • Stock all equipment and materials in warehouse in assigned areas.
    • Maintain accurate inventory and stock records using company's electronic inventory control system.
    • Maintain upkeep and inventory in "cable yard."
    • Measure/Cut fiber footages, check in/check out fiber reels, for distribution to designated personnel and contractors.
    • Perform daily/weekly cycle counts of warehouse inventory.
    • Load and unload delivery trucks.
    • Prepare shipments for pickup by FedEx and UPS.
    • Pick-up and deliver mail/packages from post office and FedEx.
    • Notify and deliver packages to designated personnel in a timely manner.
    • Minor maintenance of fleet vehicles, as well as drop off/pickup of vehicles for repair.
    • Responsible for following, supporting, and enforcing all internal control processes and procedures and always observing company safety policies.
    • Contribute to various projects working with minimal supervision, including aiding other departments and team members, as directed.

    Qualifications – The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate:

    • Competency and experience in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook; ability to work with cloud-based and mobile technology.
    • Eagerness to adapt existing processes to new, improved systems.
    • Excellent organizational skills, time management, initiative, attention to detail, accuracy, and follow through to completion.
    • Well-developed decision-making, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
    • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
    • Ability to multi-task and accomplish tasks in fast-paced environment with minimal supervision in high pressure situations.
    • Ability to represent the company in a professional manner always.
    • Must be able to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends, and overnight work, as needed, to perform field site visits to meet with contractors, customers, and local agencies.
    • Ability to effectively collaborate cross functionally with other team members at all levels within the organization, as well as with outside vendors and contractors, with a vital interest in contributing to the success of the company's goals and strategic vision.
    • Ability to operate a forklift in a multi-level warehouse environment.
    • Knowledge of warehouse inventory control best practices and procedures.
    • Familiarity with electronic inventory control systems and the ability to learn a new system quickly.

    Working Conditions

    • Primarily a warehouse work environment with some outside work in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
    • Driving company assigned vehicle to/from various locations, as directed, in a safe and responsible manner possibly during adverse weather conditions and heavy/light traffic.
    • Regular use of hands and fingers to operate specialized equipment and tools; reaching overhead above the shoulders and horizontally, bending at the waist; standing and/or walking for extended periods of time; lifting objects up to 50 pounds or lifting more than 75 pounds with tool aids.

    Other Requirements

    • 2 years' minimum relevant experience in a warehouse/storage operation.
    • 2 years' experience in Telecommunications industry, preferred.
    • Forklift experience, required.
    • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
    • Must have a valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
