- Serve as an escalation point and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for complex payroll and tax issues
- Ensure the execution of quarter and year-end processes, including running integrations, research, correcting discrepancies, and preparing reconciliations
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual workers comp audit and tax incentive requests
- Handle amendment processing and RSU processing tasks
- Post payroll-related journal entries accurately and timely for month end close
- Create and maintain reports from various systems
- Assist in project planning, implementation, and system testing
- Mentor other team members and provide training and support
- Identify and resolve complex issues, proactively assess tax process improvements
- Lead conversations to drive project resolutions and assist in setting department goals
- Research and stay updated on law and regulation changes affecting payroll processes
- Support Payroll management and team members with various tasks as needed
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in high volume, multi-state payroll processing
- 5+ years of experience in payroll tax and accounting
- Hands-on experience with ADP Smart Compliance, Workday, and KRONOS
- Thorough understanding of federal and state payroll regulations
- Ability to prioritize work effectively and achieve goals consistently
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
- FPC or CPP certification is a plus
