Residential Specialist Job at Progressive Directions, Inc.

Are you a caring, dependable individual passionate about supporting people with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities to live independently? Progressive Directions is seeking dedicated professionals to join their team in Clarksville, TN.

Progressive Directions, Inc. is a nonprofit organization with over forty years of experience. Their mission is to provide innovative programs and transformative services to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, promoting independence and personal success.

Job Summary:

The Residential Specialist at Progressive Directions ensures individuals' basic needs are met, including personal hygiene, money management, housekeeping, and community involvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide assistance in personal care and hygiene.
Help with meal preparation, grocery shopping, and household chores.
Support individuals in medication management and self-care skills.
Coordinate community outings and activities based on individual interests.
Ensure documentation of all activities and communication with staff.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Valid driver's license in TN, KY, or AL.
Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively.
Clear criminal background check and driving record.
Ability to attend required training courses.

Physical Demands:

Employees must meet physical requirements to perform job functions effectively, including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

12-hour shifts with rotating weekends

Education:

High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

1 year as a Direct Support Staff in a Residential setting (Preferred)
1 year working with individuals with developmental disabilities (Preferred)
1 year working with individuals with intellectual disabilities (Preferred)

License/Certification:

Driver's License in KY, TN, or AL (Required)
