Designs new models, mechanisms and adaptations for products following directions and suggestions from the Engineering Manager. Investigates alterations to designs for improved performance. Prepares preliminary layout drawings. Responsible for correctness of proportions, consideration of stresses, speeds, weight and other details. Changes design to meet manufacturing requests; may make alterations when in process to facilitate manufacturing.
Ability and willingness to fill other roles in if need arises. Be an available resource to support the company goal of continuous improvement of products and services.
Desired Competencies:
Communication, Organized, Flexibility, Problem solving, Analytical skills, Attention to detail, Team player, Proficiency with MS Office applications and CAD experience.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Minimum (5) years' experience in the design of machinery, rotating equipment or hydraulic systems
o Hydraulic component sizing and selection
o Pneumatic component selection and sizing
o Heat transfer calculations
