YOUR FUTURE TEAM


As part of TCEQ's Office of Waste, you would contribute to agency efforts to regulate the generation, treatment, storage, and disposal of various wastes and the cleanup of contaminated sites.

This position is a member of our Waste Permits Division.


WHAT YOU WILL DO


As a part of the division's West Permits team, our Manager VI will play a key role in achieving TCEQ's mission.


You would use your skills and experience to:

  • Oversee personnel management functions, which includes interviewing, hiring, and developing staff, performance management, etc.
  • Manage the staff and activities of the IHW Section, consistent with division and section goals and objectives.
  • Communicate program information to employees, management, and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assure the quality and timeliness of customer service by division staff for both internal and external customers.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in the management of a business function, division, or department relevant to assignment.


OR
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience interviewing, hiring, coaching, and managing staff with an environmental, engineering, or science backgrounds.
  • Experience giving presentations to the Legislature, regulated industry, and agency management.
  • Experience working with federal environmental regulations (e.g., industrial and hazardous waste, air pollution, remediation, pollution cleanup, municipal solid waste, water regulations)
