Status: Full-time, Seasonal

Classification: Exempt

Schedule: Weekdays, Weekends, Evenings, Holidays

Hours: 40

POSITION SUMMARY

At Roundup River Ranch, we see and aim to provide care for the whole child. We provide specialized medical care to each of our campers, and also provide mental, emotional, and social health care and support. The Behavioral Health Lead will be a direct report of the Behavioral Health Manager and will be the front line support for camper's behavioral health needs. The Behavioral Health Lead will serve as a primary point of contact and will provide camper behavior support tools, resources, and trainings to seasonal staff in direct care of campers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Job Responsibilities-Clinical

Provide behavioral health support for campers as needed and lead seasonal staff in supporting mental, emotional, and social health needs of their campers.
As directed by the Behavioral Health Manager, communicate with campers' referring physicians, medical providers, counselors/therapists, and parents/guardians.
Serve as a resource for summer staff and volunteers in supporting campers in the areas of behavior support, communication, and mental health.
Support the Behavioral Health Manager in providing wellness and education opportunities to seasonal staff throughout the summer.
Provide staff and volunteers opportunities to debrief difficult situations, provide pro-active support in the area of vicarious trauma.
In partnership with the Behavioral Health Manager, serve as a liaison for behavioral concerns between the cabin life and medical teams at team meetings.

Job Responsibilities- Administrative

Partner with the Behavioral Health Manager in the review of camper applications and admissions.
Assist the Behavioral Health Manager with summer staff training and volunteer orientation and training.
Follow camp standards of confidentiality regarding camper and staff medical records.
Provide administrative support to the Behavioral Health Manager to include camper file record-keeping, camper profile updates, etc.
Establish and support ongoing staff appreciation and community building.
Weekly responsibilities include rotating overnight on-call shifts and senior leadership responsibilities.
Work with staff to ensure emotionally safe programming and residential experience for campers.
Assist with planning and participating in staff and volunteer orientations.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

JOB COMPETENCIES

Strong communication skills (written and oral).
Interest and ability to partner and collaborate with others.
Be able to identify emergency situations, either by seeing them happen, hearing cries for help, or hearing the emergency alert siren and bell.
Have the strength, endurance, and physical skills to respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations, according to written emergency procedures and plans.
Be able to demonstrate or participate in camp activities as they supervise and instruct campers: this will require the ability to walk, sit, climb, kneel, crouch, stoop, and stand.
Be able to move items or people. This will require the strength and mobility to push, pull, lift, and carry.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Certified behavioral health professional or similar work experience and/or education
License or certification accepted by the State of Colorado (or ability to obtain prior to camp start).
Current CPR/AED/BLS and PALS or ENPC certification.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children.
Experience in a camp, school, or child development setting is a plus.

Special Requirements: This is a residential position. Accommodation will be provided for the duration of the contract, and meals will be provided while the camp is in session.
