Responsibilities

  • Always present yourself professionally and wear appropriate uniform to work.
  • Promptly arriving to Base Station and immediately contact dispatch to receive clear and concise directions.
  • Immediately do your van check for safety concerns, oxygen tanks full, proper PPE's, sheets, blankets, pillows, and pillowcases, sanitizing wipes and foam etc.
  • Safely transport patients from one location to another.
  • After each transport check all paperwork has been acquired (Face Sheet, PCS, Daily Trip Log etc.)
  • During downtime do daily chores, vacuum, sanitize all habitat areas, empty garbage, do laundry, clean bathrooms, and shower area etc.
  • Launder and fold clean sheets, blankets, and towels.
  • Wash Rigs with your partner.
  • Make sure all documents are signed correctly and submitted at end of shift.
  • Document used inventory, restock ambulance, and notify supervisor if supplies are low.
  • Check all equipment to make sure it is in working order, Phones, Gurney, lpads, Batteries charged etc.
  • Sanitize transport equipment between patient use.
  • Make sure communication board is up to date.
  • End of shift task needs to be followed, make sure transport vans are cleaned and sterilized and is properly stocked for the next crew.
  • Make sure transport vans are relled with gas at the end of shift.
  • Make sure you leave the keys hanging for the next shift.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must have a clean DMV record
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and good written communication skills

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.

This position requires physical strength, balance, and hand-eye coordination. Must be able to lift and carry up to 150 pounds with or without assistance.

This position does require the ability to perform under stressful conditions and high-volume demands.
