DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • A minimum of seven to ten years of relevant experience, with a preference for expertise in nonprofit accounting; experience with labor unions is considered advantageous.
  • Desired qualification as a Certified Public Accountant or active pursuit of certification
  • Profound mastery of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Familiarity with Business Central accounting software is a distinct asset
  • Exceptional communication skills coupled with meticulous attention to detail
  • Previous supervisory experience is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in Excel is essential

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Oversee daytoday operations within the accounting department consisting of 11 individuals
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of general ledger entries
  • Spearhead annual audits for International, Charitable Foundation, and PACs
  • Coordinate annual 990 filings for International, Charitable Foundation, and PACs
  • Serve as the primary liaison for all PAC disbursements and reconciliations
  • Proactively identify areas for process enhancement and optimization
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining historical records
  • Uphold compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Directly manage one individual responsible for bank reconciliations, investment reconciliations, and fixed asset recognition
  • Collaborate closely with the Chief Financial Officer on all matters pertaining to the accounting department
