DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of seven to ten years of relevant experience, with a preference for expertise in nonprofit accounting; experience with labor unions is considered advantageous.
Desired qualification as a Certified Public Accountant or active pursuit of certification
Profound mastery of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Familiarity with Business Central accounting software is a distinct asset
Exceptional communication skills coupled with meticulous attention to detail
Previous supervisory experience is highly desirable
Proficiency in Excel is essential

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee daytoday operations within the accounting department consisting of 11 individuals
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of general ledger entries
Spearhead annual audits for International, Charitable Foundation, and PACs
Coordinate annual 990 filings for International, Charitable Foundation, and PACs
Serve as the primary liaison for all PAC disbursements and reconciliations
Proactively identify areas for process enhancement and optimization
Assist in organizing and maintaining historical records
Uphold compliance with established policies and procedures
Directly manage one individual responsible for bank reconciliations, investment reconciliations, and fixed asset recognition
Collaborate closely with the Chief Financial Officer on all matters pertaining to the accounting department
