Senior Accountant – Asheville – Up to $100K

PrideStaff is recruiting for an Senior Accountant for an accounting firm located in Asheville.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Represent clients (taxpayers) relating to issues with their taxes to the IRS.

Maintain client confidentiality regarding tax information and personal documents.

Perform audits and appeals on behalf of their clients.

Provide tax advice to clients in adherence with IRS rules and regulations.

Teach clients about tax laws and regulations and how they affect their business.

Complete basic accounting tasks such as updating financial records and reviewing bank statements. This task would include managing the bookkeeping and payroll department and signing the financial statements prior to being provided to the client.

Pursue continued education courses each year to maintain licensure.

Check in with previous clients to provide additional services.

Answer client calls and set up appointments to meet about their taxes. (We have staff that performs these tasks but in case of a vacancy, etc they would be required to work and assist the team).

Help clients identify potential liabilities on their balance sheet.

Create a tax plan for clients for future use.

Calculate deductions and other exceptions that could contribute to a client paying less in taxes.

Experience collaborating and managing a team of accountants Qualifications and Requirements:

Minimum Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Must be an active Enrolled Agent with the IRS.

Minimum of three years of Tax experience required

Minimum of three years of QuickBooks Online preferred

Experience preparing business taxes including 1120, 1120S, 1065.

Proven work experience as a tax preparer.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Solid written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise

Excellent organizational skills

Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks

Customer service attitude

Knowledge of Fixed asset management and depreciationHours of Work: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $80, $100,000.00 Per Year
