    What We Need

    DFT is looking for a Electromechanical Test Engineer to join the team during an exciting period of expansion within the department. This role will work within the Quality team and alongside Systems, Hardware, and Software Engineering and Production. The Test Engineer is responsible for creating hardware testing procedures, performs component and finished product-level testing, and helps ensure that the company adheres to the quality protocols needed to produce the highest quality product. The ideal candidate will have experience with hands on electro-mechanical hardware bring up, test and debug stemming from the printed circuit board level through to the completed product.

    What You'll Do

    • Test all aspects of electrical systems, subsystems, components, devices and cables and track associated quality assurance metrics
    • Design test plans and test cases to validate new hardware for initial testing, power up, post production testing, formal acceptance testing and improve existing products –
    • Create and execute detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
    • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents
    • Perform product validation and verification of hardware to include reliability and environmental testing
    • Document problem reproduction using detailed step by step instructions
    • Perform debugging and hardware analysis on circuits and rework designs
    • Communicate progress and complications to Quality Manager and/or Production Manager to assist with fixes, rework, and redesign for manufacturability
    • Perform first article inspection
    • Additional Functions: Other duties as assigned or required.

    Required Skills/Qualifications

    • Minimum 4 years of experience with hardware debugging and product validation
    • Proficient in working with test equipment, such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and data loggers
    • Understand engineering drawings and schematics and follow detailed work instructions for troubleshooting
    • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally using the English language.
    • Work autonomously as well as in a team environment.
    • Flexible and adaptable to changes, learn quickly, manage time efficiently.
    • Proficient user of Microsoft Office and ERP systems
    • Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar STEM field
    • Knowledge of basic software programs and languages, such as C, C++
    • Certified or experienced in soldering electronic components, in particular PCBs (through-hole and surface mount), cables, and wire harnesses (IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, IPC J-STD-001)

    What We Offer

    Salary Range - $70,000 - $110,000

    The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
