Job Summary:

The Assistant Principal at University High School is responsible for all of the day-to-day operations of the school throughout the calendar year.

This includes monitoring attendance, student supervision, discipline, being the Facility Manager, as well as supervising the Summer School program.

In addition, the Assistant Principal participates in Faculty Governance as the Chair of the Student Conduct Committee and the Safety Committee and plays a role in supporting Teacher Education in collaboration with the University.

Additional Information:

This is a temporary position while a search for a permanent hire is conducted.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate:

Pay is commensurate with qualifications and experience, combined with an excellent benefits package

Required Qualifications:

Master's Degree
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License
ISBE Teacher Evaluation Certification
Completion of the Principal as an Instructional Leader Subtest 1 & 2
Minimum of eight years teaching and/or school administrative experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience as a building administrator

Work Hours:

School hours, with additional evening hours to be present and supervise evening and weekend activities.
