This is a part-time position for the school year as a Spanish Immersion ESS Parapro at our Elementary School.


The purpose of this position is to build belonging in partnership with teachers and families fostering a climate for students of various gifts and abilities to achieve their God given potential.


EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the School's Foundational Statements and mission through word and deed.
  • Integrate Biblical principles and Scripture into daily activities.
  • Minister to students through prayer, encouragement, and wise counsel.
  • Follow safety protocols for where students can be and how to secure the building.
  • Professionally represents the school in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students.
  • Remain professional in attire and behavior.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all matters pertaining to students, employees, and donors as outlined in NPC's Confidentiality Agreement.
  • Be timely in reporting to work and when at work.
  • Carry out the procedures and protocols in the employee handbook and respect decisions made by leadership.
  • Maintain open communication with leadership regarding questions, concerns, and needs.
  • As a representative of the school, all written and verbal interactions with parents/guardians, coworkers, and the community must be professional and reflect the school positively. This includes one's appearance, the content of the communication, and presentation of it.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Must demonstrate a growth mindset in believing that each student has the potential to succeed and displaying a commitment to ongoing training and professional development.
  • Working with ESS Coordinator and Spanish Immersion Coordinator to support classroom teachers to meet the needs of students who have qualified for intervention support.
  • Provide quality tier two and tier three instruction and materials for students who have qualified for intervention.
  • Communicate regularly with Student Union Coordinator and Spanish Immersion Coordinator and collaborate with classroom teachers to provide classroom support and pullout intervention.
  • Be able to administer reading and math assessments to individuals and classrooms.
  • Be willing to assist with progress monitoring and maintaining student intervention data.
  • Communicate regularly with parents to nurture a supportive and cooperative relationship between home and school. Respond to parent communication as soon as possible but no later than twentyfour hours.
  • Model commitment to professional development through participation and sharing with the team in a minimum of two opportunities per year and collaboration with other NPC and All Belong inclusion personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Active Christian in agreement with and willing to sign the NorthPointe Christian School's Foundational statements.
  • Able to pass required background checks and fingerprint screening.
  • Bilingual: Advanced to superior level if nonnative speaker.
  • Openness to development of teaching skills.
  • Flexibility in team/student demands.
  • Discernment and creativity in meeting student needs.
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Able to pass required background checks and fingerprint screening.
  • Exhibit the verbal ability to understand meaning of words, the ideas associated with them, and the ability to convey them to others clearly using oral expression and comprehension.
  • Display a willingness to learn and share insights, tips, and strategies learned along the way.
