About the role...


The _Air Operations Specialist_ position will have overall responsibility for an entire program series and will handle all operational aspects for assigned programs, including daily review of system generated records.

This will involve making certain all participants have a final flight itinerary that has been completed, quality reviewed, ticketed and fulfilled and will involve financial review of each program.

The Specialist is responsible for selecting air schedules that meet program parameters and the air budget.


3+ years air operations or travel industry experience required for this position

  • Road Scholar offers a remotefirst work environment. The compensation range for this exempt level salaried position is $48,000 $57,250._

You will...

  • Daily review of all manual and autobook PNRs for completeness and accuracy
  • Financial review and analysis of each program departure. Has authority to approve variances within $100 providing the program departure is within budget (annual approval level $50,000 per year)
  • Ticketing and fulfillment of all assigned programs
  • Management of block space for assigned programs
  • Manage cases for assigned groups
  • Provide feedback to Manager, Air Pricing for pricing new programs or adjustments to existing programs by tracking trends
  • Assisting with airline contact to resolve customer issues
  • Other duties as assigned

You need...

  • Bachelors' degree preferred, with 3+ years air operations or travel industry experience
  • Highly accurate and timely completion of work
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve on an independent basis
  • Ability to offer real time solutions to air operations in progress to make certain our air remains most competitive in the market place in eyes of the participant
  • Ability to independently manage overall air operational performance of assigned programs
  • Demonstrate strong desire to learn new skills and work as a team player within and between departments
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to assume new tasks and find work flow solutions to increase individual, team and departmental goals
  • Working knowledge of an airline GDS and fare and routing structures
