We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Sterile Technician to join our team in Bronx, NY.
The Sterile Technician will play a critical role in maintaining cleanliness and sterility in our medical facilities, ensuring the safety of patients and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Execute sterilization processes for medical equipment, instruments, and supplies using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Monitor and maintain sterilization equipment, ensuring it operates effectively and meets regulatory standards. Conduct routine checks to verify the effectiveness of sterilization processes.
- Manage inventory of sterile supplies, including ordering, receiving, and restocking. Ensure adequate stock levels are maintained to support daily operations.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization activities, including sterilization logs, equipment maintenance records, and inventory counts. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, surgeons, and other staff members, to support efficient and effective patient care. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate sterilization activities and address any issues or concerns.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure a safe working environment. Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns to management promptly.
- Participate in training programs and continuing education opportunities to enhance knowledge of sterilization techniques, equipment, and regulatory requirements. Share knowledge and best practices with team members to promote continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification or training in sterile processing or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in sterile processing or a healthcare environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sterility.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to effectively communicate with diverse team members and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fastpaced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and procedures as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move heavy equipment and supplies, and perform repetitive tasks.
