    Position Summary

    The Opportunity: The Business Analyst will provide financial systems support under the general supervision of the Director of Business Services. The Business Analyst serves as a primary functional systems resource to Business Services staff. The role also serves as a liaison among department staff, project stakeholders, and the state project team to elicit, analyze, communicate, prioritize, clarify, validate, and document requirements for changes to business processes and information systems in support of college objectives. This role assists with project and change management as assigned, produces training/job aids supporting SME/end user goals, and assists with knowledge transfer to employees where needed. As such, strong customer service skills are also essential for effectively working with college staff.

    This is a full-time, exempt position working 40 hours per week. This role is based in Business Services on the main campus located in Mount Vernon, Washington and is eligible for a hybrid/remote work arrangement.

    Duties and Responsibilities
    • Serve as primary support of PeopleSoft functionality within the Finance pillar;
    • Work closely with stakeholders to develop and implement functional strategies and solutions as well as supporting advanced usage of solutions and tools;
    • Conduct workflow efficiency audits to ensure appropriate access for functional roles on a regularly scheduled basis;
    • Provide regular reporting regarding PeopleSoft functionality when requested; In collaboration with IT staff, provide functional support for PeopleSoft??s finance pillar;
    • Act as the functional lead in supporting PeopleSoft finance pillar;
    • Coordinate with college staff to identify needs, changes, testing, priorities, and training of system implementation and upgrades;
    • Work with IT on data validation, integration, and acceptance testing where needed;
    • Create ad hoc queries and reports using PeopleSoft Query and other Business intelligence and data analysis tools in support of department/college objectives;
    • Work closely with local project leads and state resources;
    • Assist in providing change management functions and collaborate across the college to promote business process analysis aimed at continuous improvement;
    • Assist in providing system and functional configurations as needed within the assigned modules and work closely with state personnel support desk analysts as needed;
    • Assist in ensuring successful optimization of the ERP;
    • Lead, review, and test updates including working with end users on new functionality and determine effect on current systems and business processes;
    • Determine ticketing escalation to SBCTC for assigned areas and follow up as needed; All other duties as assigned.

    • Advanced experience with word processing, spreadsheet, database, report writing, and information systems (ERP) software;
    • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with clients, staff, and management;

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field of study;
    • Two years' experience in providing business analysis and systems support;
    • Experience supporting higher education information systems;
    • Experience with change/project management and/or business process improvement solutions.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Graduate degree in information technology or related field of study;
    • Five years' experience in providing business analysis and systems support;
    • Functional experience in PeopleSoft's Finance and/or Human Capital Management modules;
    • Certification(s) or other advanced training in SQL.
    Salary, Benefits, Conditions of Employment, Application Procedure

    Salary and Benefits:
    • Annual salary rate for this twelve-month, 100% of full-time position is $70,000-$90,000 depending on experience;
    • Contracts are written annually for the period of July 1 to June 30. This position will be filled as soon practical after a candidate is identified and the salary will be pro-rated for the remaining contract period.
    • This position is exempt from civil service. This position is eligible for overtime.
