Trane in King of Prussia, PA is hiring for a Contracting Operations Manager to join our team.

In this role you will be responsible for the administration, implementation, and management of the contracting fulfillment processes in its goal of operational excellence, support of overall strategic objectives, and accountable for overall project financial results.


What you will do.

  • Lead and manage the controls operations function across multiple locations within the designated region.
  • Provide technical guidance, support, and training to controls engineers and technicians within the region.
  • Develop and implement standardized procedures, best practices, and performance metrics across the region to ensure consistent and efficient controls operations.
  • Collaborate with other regional and corporate teams to develop and execute control strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Lead and participate in the design, development, and implementation of complex control systems and automation projects.
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize control system performance within the region, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and internal policies related to control systems, safety, and cybersecurity.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, promoting innovation and efficiency in controls operations processes and practices.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors and suppliers to ensure the availability of necessary controls equipment, spare parts, and components.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and emerging best practices in control systems and automation.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with your direct reports, providing clear instructions, feedback, and guidance. Be an active listener and encourage twoway communication to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Set clear performance expectations and goals for each team member, aligned with the overall objectives of the department and organization. Regularly review performance, provide constructive feedback, and recognize achievements. Develop individual development plans to facilitate growth and skills enhancement.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a positive attitude. Inspire and motivate your team, encouraging a productive and engaged work environment. Support your direct reports by providing resources, training opportunities, and mentorship.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities based on the strengths, skills, and development needs of your team members. Provide sufficient guidance and support while allowing them autonomy to make decisions and take ownership of their work.
  • Identify opportunities for professional development and training to enhance the technical and leadership skills of your team members. Offer coaching and mentorship to support their growth and career advancement.
  • Address conflicts or issues within your team promptly and objectively. Foster a respectful and inclusive work environment where differing opinions can be discussed and resolved constructively.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum eight (8) years' experience in facilities or HVAC systems preferred.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in contracting processes associated with the installation of building automation systems and turnkey projects preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to:
  • DUI, Hit & Run, License Susp
