    OPPORTUNITY
    The selected candidate for this position will be an integral member of the Counseling and College Persistence Team.

    They will support Green Dot Public Schools Mission to prepare all students for college leadership and life by supporting counselors and administrators to effectively implement a To and Through College and Career program.

    This is a Central Office position which will require travel between schools and the Central Office.


    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
    > Provide regular training, coaching and consultation to school counselors and administrators on the Green Dot Counseling Model and evaluation based on the College Ready Counselor Framework (CRCF)

    > Plan and deliver professional development for counselors in collaboration with Counselor Professional Development Leaders, members of Counseling and College Persistence department and community partners

    > Plan and execute Green Dot wide College and Career events (College and Career Conference, Persistence initiatives events)

    > Manage accuracy of course information in California College Guidance Initiative (CGGI), PowerSchool, UC-Course Management Portal, Electronic Transcript platform, CALPADS and other reporting platforms

    > Manage and provide consultation on various transcript requests, evaluation and graduation plans

    > Ensure schools meet compliance requirements regarding student graduation pathways for Foster, Homeless, Probation Youth, Newcomers, 504 and students with disabilities

    > Develop and support counselors to implement pre-college counseling/activities in the form of individual counseling sessions, classroom presentations, and small group presentations

    > Develop protocols and best practices for counselors to effectively support students and their families to complete the high school, college and financial aid application process

    > Support counselors with increasing and developing a college and career going culture at school sites

    > Work in conjunction with existing college and career awareness programs and any existing college access programs

    > Monitor and support counselors' utilization of data for students and monitor student progress towards middle school matriculation, high school completion and college admission

    > Collaborate with Data Analytics Department to create and maintain a counseling data dashboard of key metrics aligned to Counselor effectiveness

    > Build capacity within counselors to support students through collaboration with schools' advisory programs, staff training and community agencies.

    > Support development of Dual Enrollment/ College and Career Access Pathways at school sites

    > Support counselors to effectively implement interventions through a comprehensive Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework and monitor progress through service tracking system

    > Collaborate with Home Office Coordination of Services Team (COST) to implement organization-wide professional development, resources and protocols for student's mental health and wellness

    > Develop and implement supports for Green Dot approved programs and services to meet the needs of students, parents, and schools (Suicide Prevention, Bully Prevention, College Awareness Programs)

    > Collaborate with Education Team members and other Central Office teams to create long-term strategic plans and ensure quality and compliance for college and persistence initiatives

    > Participate in Green Dot and individual professional development programs

    > Attend and participate in all team meetings and professional development sessions

    > Plan and participate in weekly one-on-one meetings with Director of School Counseling Program

    > Additional duties as assigned by Director of School Counseling Program


    QUALIFICATIONS

    As an ideal candidate, you:
    > have a current CA Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential in School Counseling (required)

    > have a master's or doctoral degree in Education (preferred)

    > are bilingual - Spanish: fluency in both written and oral language desired

    > are able to organize and plan complex projects and activities

    > are hardworking, motivated and self-directed; able to think critically and anticipate needs of stakeholders

    > possess knowledge and understanding of the needs of a diverse student population (ELD, SpEd, Foster, Homeless, Undocumented and Highly Gifted Youth)

    > possess knowledge of higher education institutions (UC, CSU, CC, Private Colleges), and the ability to explain procedures to youth, parents, and school representatives

    > have strong oral and written communication skills

    > are experienced in collaborative planning and delivery of differentiated staff development to various stakeholders

    > exhibit flexibility and high social-emotional competence

    > are able to establish rapport and relationships with high school personnel, students, families, community members, university departments and faculty members.

    > possess a valid CA driver's license: job requires working at multiple sites

    COMPENSATION
    The salary range for this role is $82,000 - $88,000.

    Opportunities for salary growth are available over time; however, offers near the upper end of the salary range are uncommon.

    Individual education and experience will be considered when issuing offers.

    In addition, if hired by June 30, 2024, this position qualifies for a one-time $2,500 signing bonus, paid in two installments after months 6 and 12 of employment (subject to change).
