Overview of Job Description


SRQ Strong is seeking an Executive Director (ED) to partner with its dynamic new board of directors to lead the next chapter in the growth of our small yet influential community organization.

SRQ Strong is looking for someone who can grow and develop as we grow and develop.


The ED should have strong management and community leadership experience and demonstrated skills to advance the organization in terms of mission, trauma-informed culture, implementation and oversight of administrative processes, and community impact.

This job description outlines the areas of responsibility, including planning and evaluation, policy development and administration, personnel and fiscal management, fundraising, and public relations.

The ED position is preferably a full-time position, but part-time applicants will be considered. The ED is hired by and directly accountable to the board of directors.

The ED is not a member of the board or any of its committees; however, the ED does attend all board meetings and committee meetings.


Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Inspire a passion for the SRQ Strong mission with all organizational stakeholders team members, board members, volunteers, donors, community partners, and funders engaging and energizing them to invite others to join our work and activities.
  • Actively promote and advocate for traumainformed approaches and practices in the community, promote the traumainformed movement, and be the "goto" resource to support a movement across the Suncoast.
  • Build an authentic sense of belonging for those who find their way into our organization, ensuring the SRQ Strong ecosystem is diverse, equitable and inclusive.
  • Model traumainformed leadership by tending to your selfcare as well as the care of your staff and the community.

Management and Administration

  • Reporting to the board of directors, the ED will have overall management and administrative responsibility for a growing organization that is inclusive, transparent, and empowering in a manner that strives for the highest standards of nonprofit governance and inspires community confidence.
  • With the board of directors, develop, oversee, and ensure the facilitation and implementation of an active and dynamic planning process, including the organization's strategic plan, action plans, and resources to achieve strategic goals.
  • Develop organizational goals and objectives consistent with the mission and vision of SRQ Strong and with the principles of traumainformed organizations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, grant agreements, and contracts.
  • With the board of directors, develop operational policies and administer them effectively and efficiently.
  • Oversee all programs, services, and activities to ensure programmatic excellence and to reflect an understanding of the diverse communities we serve.
  • Ensure tracking of program information for evaluation and reporting purposes.
  • Oversee the daytoday operations of the SRQ Strong office.
  • Maintain official records and documents; curate board meeting minutes, reports, records, and financial documents; and ensure compliance with recordkeeping and storage laws and regulations.
  • Ensure adequate and timely performance from all contracted service providers. Ensure all contracts are written with clear expectations and are appropriately executed.

Fiscal Management and Fundraising/Development

  • Working with the board of directors, the ED will:
  • Develop an annual organizational budget and other budgets as necessary.
  • Develop and implement a fundraising/marketing/development plan for SRQ Strong to expand revenuegenerating opportunities.
  • Ensure that adequate funds are available to permit the organization to carry out its work, strategies, and action plans.
  • Monitor cash flow and approve expenditures within approved budget parameters.
  • Working with SRQ Strong's contract accounting/bookkeeping firm, the ED will:
  • Provide for and maintain sound fiscal record-keeping, reporting, and practices
  • Working with The Board Treasurer, the ED will
  • Submit monthly financial statements to the board of directors.
  • Establish and maintain
