- OR First Assisting- Surgical PA Services first assist in the OR for specialties including but not limited to general, plastic, spine, bariatric and OB/GYN cases.
- Rounding- Surgical PA's round on general surgery patients daily. This is done as a team-based approach with attendings, residents, students.
- Consults/ Admissions- Surgical PA Services covers admissions and consults for general surgeons
- Call Coverage - On call from home coverage. Night coverage responsibilities include first assisting emergent OR cases, admissions and consults for general surgery.
- Floor Procedures- Surgical PA's are responsible for floor procedures including but not limited to NG tube insertion and removal, wound vac and dressings changes, bedside I&D.
- There will be cross-coverage in scheduling between Northern Dutchess Hospital and Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
- The qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and be NCCPA certified as well as possess strong surgical and patient management experience.
- Candidates with at least one to three years of surgical experience and/or surgical residency trained candidates preferred, but new graduates will be considered as will new nurse practitioners with RNF certification and surgical experience.

Northern Dutchess Hospital/Vassar Brothers Medical Center: (Rhinebeck, NY/Poughkeepsie, NY)The Surgical PA Service at Northern Dutchess Hospital and Vassar Brothers Medical Center is seeking to add a board-certified full-time Physician Assistant to join its team.
We are a hospital-based group that offers a supportive and team-based environment with exposure to multiple surgical subspecialties. Responsibilities currently include OR first assist coverage as well as perioperative management, inpatient rounding and consult coverage. This position is a great opportunity for growth and contains a high volume of DaVinci Robotic Surgery cases.This position is for four 10-hour day shifts per week with one weekend shift per month (included in weekly hours).
There is an extensive onboarding and training period as well as a supportive environment for collaboration and learning.Qualifications
