    The Director of Residential Supportive Housing (DRSH), will report directly to the Executive Director. This is an exciting time to join Favarh (pronounced "FAY-var")-Arc of the Farmington Valley,Connecticut .     Favarh is a local chapter of The Arc, the world's largest community-based organization for people with intellectual, physical and development disabilities. We are one of the most progressive agencies within residential services and have 2 additional brand-new locations being built in Farmington, CT. This is a cutting-edge role to support the growth and oversite of a total of eight locations.

    Favarh was founded in 1958 by eight local families and has grown to support more than 350 adolescents, young adults, adults, seniors, and families in the Greater Farmington Valley area. Our Mission is to "Help Each Person Achieve Their Personal Best", as we encourage and support a greater level of independence and personal satisfaction for each person that we support.

    RESPONSIBITILIES:
    • Oversees the day-to-day operation of the assigned residence(s), including implementing agency policy and practice and ensuring compliance with the statutory requirements of the Department of Developmental Services (DDS).
    • Fulfills programmatic responsibilities by providing quality living support and supervision to individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities and staff. Primary
    • Leads staff in creating an atmosphere that places individual respect, dignity, and empowerment above all else.
    • Work as part of the Residential Team, including assisting peers as needed, providing Residential Office Coverage, and having a working knowledge of all Residential Homes and Systems.
    • Utilize a PBS approach when working with staff and individuals, including promoting the agency objectives related to personal growth, community involvement and decision making.
    • Ensure Residential Team Members are aware of daily schedule and staffing coverage. Keep the team informed of any pertinent issues at the home and changes in status, including providing clinical information to Weekend On-Call team as necessary.
    • Complete required documentation completely and accurately, including ISP Documentation, Health Care Records, HCSIS, Incident Reporting, Weekend Notes, House Profiles, Vacation Memos, Staffing Schedules, and House Committee Reports.
    • Participate in Directors Meetings, Clinical Meetings, QAs and other meetings as deemed necessary. Participate in Agency trainings and Committees as assigned.
    • Ensure House Books and Systems follow Residential Standards, QA Tools and DDS Survey and Certification, including, Fire Drill Logs, Resource Manuals, House Meeting Books, Confidential Books, Medical Books, Money Books and Data Books.
    • Maintain and follow a current safety plan, including training staff, conducting fire drills, and reporting any issues. Ensure minimum safety ratios are always maintained.
    • Hire, organize and coordinate staff to meet the goals of the agency. Facilitate staff meetings and provide on-site supervision and support to staff. Be approachable and responsive to staff.
    • Complete billing information, payroll, other documentation accurately and in a timely fashion.
    • Have a working knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Office, Therap and ADP.
    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
    • BS/BA strongly preferred, HS Diploma/GED and minimum of ten years prior experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities or within human services.
    • Maintain certifications as required: CPR, First Aid, Med Certification, PMT, MAPS
    • CT Drivers License in good standing with 5 years of a clean traffic record. We partner with Ride-Share for vehicles, this is a requirement of employment.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and reporting techniques.
