SENIOR GUEST ADVISOR


SUMMARY

The Senior Game Advisor provides exceptional guest service in a selling environment utilizing GameStop's core business model, the Circle of Life.

Under supervision, this role ensures products are easily accessible, boosts sales through sharing product knowledge, maintains a clean and organized shopping environment, and fosters guest loyalty.

This position also supports store management in overseeing store operations.

Senior game advisors exemplify the behaviors needed to ensure each guest receives a top-notch store experience.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Provide excellent guest service: greet guests promptly, address their questions and concerns courteously, assist them with their gaming needs, inform them of promotions, recommend additional items, apply selling techniques in every transaction, and express gratitude for choosing GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks by actively engaging throughout the store
  • Process guest purchases/returns accurately and promptly using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system
  • Address guest inquiries in person and over the phone professionally and promptly
  • Promote GameStop's reservation program and guest loyalty program
  • Assist in maintaining staffing levels for optimal guest service, supervise inventory, stocking, and ensuring merchandise is well-presented on the sales floor
  • Support the store team in achieving sales goals and performing operational tasks
  • Handle daily transaction totals, business paperwork, and bank deposits accurately
  • Check shipments for discrepancies, inspect associates' belongings, and supervise tasks in the absence of management

SENIOR GUEST ADVISOR

  • Provide feedback to Store Leader regarding associate performance
  • Ensure accurate closure of payroll week in the absence of management

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • Must be at least 18 years old and provide required age verification
  • Offer genuine and friendly assistance to guests
  • Minimum 1 year experience in retail sales, guest service, or management
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Video game knowledge is a plus

  • Physical requirements: bending, lifting up to 30 lbs., working unassisted for up to 10 hours
  • Must have transportation for bank deposits
