Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Special Events Coordinator to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for event planning and a knack for creating memorable experiences.

The Special Events Coordinator develops and implements programs for the residents of Vibrant Wilde Lake, manages an annual calendar of events, and develops and implements marketing plans, including use of social media, for WLCA-sponsored festival, special events, and art exhibits & receptions.

The Special Events Coordinator reports to the Executive Director/Village Manager.


Duties:


  • Plan, coordinate, and execute special events including festivals, fundraisers, and community events catering to residents of various ages and diverse backgrounds
  • Develop event concepts and themes that align with the organization's goals and objectives
  • Manage all aspects of event logistics including vendor coordination, budget management, and timeline development
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of events
  • Oversee event setup, including decor, seating arrangements, audiovisual equipment, and catering services
  • Coordinate event marketing efforts to drive attendance and engagement using traditional and social media platforms
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and attendees throughout the event
  • Conduct postevent evaluations to assess the success of each event and identify areas for improvement
  • Art Gallery Management work with an Art Advisory Committee for selection of a variety of art to display in the Bernice Kish Art Gallery located at Slayton House. Manages and maintains the functioning and operations of the art gallery, including working with artists, scheduling exhibits and art receptions and soliciting artists for exhibits as necessary

Skills:


  • Proven experience in event planning or events management
  • Strong market knowledge in the hospitality industry
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, vendors, and internal teams
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Experience in fundraising events is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of contract negotiation and management
  • Customer serviceoriented mindset

Job Type:
Part-time


Pay:
$ $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week


Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Experience:

- special events coordination: 1 year (required)


Ability to Relocate:

  • Columbia, MD 21044: Relocate before starting work (required)
