    Job Summary

    Hybrid: The candidate will be residing in Texas. A generous relocation package is available. 25% travel. 75% remote

    Eurest Dining is seeking an Operations Controller for a high-profile portfolio. As the Operations Controller, you will ensure the accurate management and reporting of the location's finances while working with the location leadership team to develop action plans to continually drive financial performance. While reporting to the Regional Director, the Accounting Manager will participate in management meetings and build strong relationships with location stakeholders.

    Supervisory Responsibilities : This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities; assists in the supervision of all Operations Managers, who each have multiple direct reports.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for or assists with Regional Director for all matters relating to financial operations Regional Director Portfolio.
  • All accounting activity within the portfolio including financial statements prepared in a timely and accurate manner; accounting conforms to generally accepted accounting principles; balance sheet accounts reconciled monthly; ensures accounting follows contract terms; analyzes income statement and balance sheet; no earnings management; preparation of Internal Control Reviews.
  • Training and development of all accounting and clerical procedures regularly in the local team. Contacts all-hand financial reporting training with Compass and Client standards of operation.
  • Provides financial support to operations including lends financial perspective to business issues facing the portfolio; teaches operators on how to better understand and use financial statements; assists accounting staff and operators on how to provide data to FSC and other corporate departments.
  • Assists with preparation of business forecasts, with operations input, including keeping in constant communication with operations to recognize change in trends; providing annual forecast by month, line of business; updates monthly.
  • Development of portfolio financial plan including ensuring meaningful internal review of region plan by regional staff; meeting submission date and requirements.
  • New business return on investment pro-forma including reviewing computations made by others for accuracy, validating assumptions, providing financial perspective of risks and opportunities to Regional Director and Vice President of Operations.
  • Reporting: Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual portfolio reporting and analytics needs for the portfolio.
  • Assisting the Regional Director with keeping operations focused on optimization of working capital including collection of past due receivables, effective management of imprest funds; paying vendors according to terms; take all available discounts.

  • Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred, or equivalent professional experience with a minimum of five years' experience with revenue control, financial reporting, and cash handling responsibilities.
  • Accounting experience in foodservice or retail industry required, foodservice operations experience a plus.
