    Location: Waltham, MA

    Employment Type: Full-Time

    Hours per Week: 32.5 hours

    Job Duration: Start ASAP - June 14, 2024 (Potential extension into ESY and 2024/2025 school year)

    About the Position: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced School Nurse (RN or LPN with trach experience) to provide 1:1 care for a 15-year-old male student in Waltham, MA. This full-time position involves accompanying the student on the bus and providing comprehensive care throughout the school day. The ideal candidate will have experience with tracheostomy care, suctioning, and PEG tube feedings.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide 1:1 nursing care for a 15-year-old male student who is deaf and has a tracheostomy.
    • Accompany the student on the bus to and from school.
    • Perform tracheostomy care and suctioning as needed.
    • Administer PEG tube feedings three times a day.
    • Monitor the student's health and well-being throughout the school day.
    • Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and school staff regarding the student's health and any concerns.
    • Maintain accurate and confidential health records.

    Caseload/Details:

    • 1:1 care for a 15-year-old male student.
    • The student requires assistance with a trach, suctioning, and PEG tube feedings.
    • Nurse will ride the bus with the student and provide care throughout the day.

    Requirements:

    • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with experience in tracheostomy care.
    • Experience with suctioning and PEG tube feedings.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and provide comprehensive care in a school setting.
    • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
