Role and Responsibilities
Pacific Aviation is looking for a Payroll Accountant. You will prepare payroll schedules, run payroll and records and you'll contribute to various accounting tasks, including AR/AP processing.


Responsibilities

Payroll:


  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Accounts Payable:


  • Daily processing of vendor invoices
  • Customer relations (obtaining W9's for proper vendor setup and reconciling statements)
  • End of year duties include processing 1099's and final aging's for accrual purposes

Accounts Receivable:


  • Responsible for overseeing the billing process for customers
  • Running monthly customer statements and monthly aging for collections review with senior management
  • Sending out monthly statements
  • Customer account maintenance including but not limited to account creation, sales/product creation, rate adjustments, monthly billing (invoice creation) and credit memos
  • Additional duties include tracking contracts and updating rates as changes occur

Professional Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a payroll accountant or in a similar role
  • Previous experience with AR/AP
  • Strong knowledge of Payroll compliance
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
  • Great computational ability
  • Attention to detail
  • Certified Payroll Professional preferred
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
  • Excellent organizational and people management skills
  • Strong background in payroll workflows

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience
  • Experience with UKG Ready preferred
  • Previous experience working with Payroll Systems/HRIS
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs, such as Outlook, Word and Excel, as well as the general use of computers
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations (multistate), filings, and compliance requirements both adopted and pending affecting any employee benefit programs (including ERISA), FMLA, NLRB, ADA, Workers Compensation, Medicare, Social Security, and DOL requirements
  • Approach others in a tactful manner; React well under pressure; and treat others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Products

Benefits

  • Salary $66,000 $75,000, depending on experience.
