RESEARCH SPECIALIST II, School of Medicine, Anatomy - FRAMINGHAM, United States - Boston University

    Default job background
    Description
We are seeking a highly motivated, proactive and collaborative full-time Research Specialist to start within the next 1-2 months.

This position will be directly assisting with responsibilities relating to the AHA/Gates Ventures funded Collaboratory Project between Framingham Heart Study (FHS) and Boston University's Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (BU ADRC).

Our highest priority is making participants feel comfortable, welcome, and appreciated throughout the study process. The Senior Research Specialist will be involved in a multi-faceted study involving cognitive testing and neuroimaging.

Duties will include recruiting participants from the Framingham Heart Study to take part in neuropsychology testing, brain MRI, PET, brain donation, traumatic brain injury, and digital health studies.

Responsibilities also include administering and scoring an array of paper-and-pencil and digital neuropsychological assessments.

Cognitive testing may take place either at participants home or virtually, at various neuroimaging sites located in New England, or at the Framingham Heart Study office.

The Senior Research Specialist will be expected to accompany participants to the neuroimaging locations and take part in general project management, including IRB-related procedures, and oversee quality control processes.

The position will be expected to meet the administrative and funding organizations' reporting requirements, including the ordering and management of PET tracers.

Additionally, the position will help with the search for scientific literature and help to collate, manage, and analyze data associated with age-related cognitive decline.

The position may also be asked to assist in other administrative work as needed to ensure proper tracking of study materials and procedures.

Lastly, the position will be on call for a total of 2-4 weeks per year for the Brain Donation program, where they will assist with coordinating the brain donation process.

    Required Skills

Requires a bachelor's degree in a related discipline, with 3-5 years of related experience.

We are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, military service, pregnancy or pregnancy-related condition, or because of marital, parental, or veteran status.
