Summary

Overview The Mental Health Therapist plays a crucial role in delivering mental health assessments and therapy to patients and their families, upholding values of excellence and accessibility. Responsibilities include compiling reports, developing treatment plans, and potentially handling on-call duties. Travel to offsite locations may be necessary, reporting to the Mental Health Therapy Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out Clinical Care: Performing psychiatric evaluations, creating treatment plans, and providing evidence-based therapies to children and adolescents with mental health conditions. Collaborating with medical care providers and integrated care teams for seamless patient care.
- Licenses and Certifications: Requires a current Virginia clinical license, with preference given to certifications in specific modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. CPR certification is mandatory.
- Minimum Education and Experience: A Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution is essential, along with at least two years of post-license experience. Proficiency in evidence-based treatments and strong communication skills are required.
- Working Conditions: Typically based in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
