First State Orthopaedics is looking for a Full Time Medical Records Legal Clerk to process requests for Medical Records from Attorney's, Third Party Vendors, Disability Determination Services and Insurance Companies in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with the established HIPPA and State of Delaware Guidelines and procedures of First State Orthopaedics.

Position Requirements:
High School Diploma. Good communication and computer skills, good working knowledge of general medical terminology, data entry experience, and general mathematical skills.

Maintain a working knowledge of the NextGen EPM, EMR, and ICS.
Review and verify all incoming medical record requests are compliant with regulations.
Contact requester for invalid authorizations and follow up on receipt of valid authorization
Process medical records requests by copying or printing requested information.
Creates and faxes prepayment invoices based on regulations to requestor.
Properly documents NexGen EMP with invoice information and maintains pending invoice filing system.
Processes legal checks deposited and creates encounters for each check.
Identifies checks needing distribution to other departments.
Properly documents Nextgen EPM with check receipt and records mailing address.
Verifies deposit total with legal check processing total.
Completes deposit remittance processed detail form and gives to charge processor.
Process requests and distributes charts from storage.
Ability to interface with support departments and articulate issues and concerns.
