    Description

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Orthopedics Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards of care. The successful candidate will also utilize the nursing process to develop patient care plans and triage patients as necessary.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
    • Performs blood draws, urine dips, rapid streps, influenza, mono, CMP, CBC, cardiac inhalation treatments, IVs, bladder catheters, injections, EKGs, dressing changes and splinting as required.
    • Educates patients and families regarding diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness.
    • Handles specimens and performs lab testing in a timely manner.
    • Cleans surgical instruments and packages them for sterilization.
    • Audits charts daily for missing charges and diagnoses.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Associate's degree in Nursing required.
    • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare facility or private physician office.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
    • Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
