    The Advancement Associate is integral to raising funds for Wellnest and growing its base of supporters.

    This position is responsible for driving specific fundraising outcomes, departmental administration, database management, external affairs activities including special events, and community engagement. The Advancement Associate is responsible for the development, implementation and management of volunteer programs, in-kind donations, and additional advancement activities as needed.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    EVENTS & FUNDRAISING:
    • Manage, execute and drive annual fundraising events, campaigns, and appeals.
    • Work closely with the Advancement Team to secure corporate and community sponsorships.
    • Manage event RSVP list with great attention detail, input accuracy as it relates to donor information.
    • Coordinate logistics related to event planning, implementation, follow-up, and acknowledgement.
    • Oversee tasks associated with community engagement opportunities, campaigns and events.
    • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, including scopes of work, bidding, negotiations, follow-through, and payment.
    DATABASE MANAGEMENT:
    • Mangage fundraising performance reports from donor database.
    • Manage prospect pipelines, lists and reporting for Advancement and other purposes.
    • Lead efforts to uphold data integrity, accuracy and consistency.
    • Responsible for gift processing and acknowledgement production.
    • Inputs donations, pledges and gifts-in-kind in constituent relationship management (CRM) system.
    ADMINISTRATIVE:
    • Ensure timely and appropriate tracking, reporting and recognition of in-kind donations.
    • Produce mailing labels as needed for mailings.
    • Generat reports as needed for board meetings, donor tracking, etc.
    • Manage mailings from creating list, printing, and stuffing while meeting mail date deadlines.
    • Assist the VP of Advancement & External Affairs with donor cultivation and stewardship activities.
    • Supports all Advancement Department activities and donor relation programs including the annual fund, fundraising events, and legacy gifts.
    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education and Experience:
    • Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in business, communications, public policy, or a related field. Graduate degree preferred.
    • 2 to 5 years of direct and relevant work experience, preferably in a not for profit organization. Proven success in coordinating large-scale community events.
    Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
    • Must possess and maintain a valid CA driver's license and insurable driving record.
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • A strong commitment to advancing Wellnest's mission.
    • Bilingual (Spanish) skills are preferred.
    • Exemplify superior organizational skills and an ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
    • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment and discretion
    • Ability to maintain a high level of ethical and professional standards in accordance with agency and community policy
    • Excellent communication skills with an ability to speak with tact, clearly and persuasively.
    • Demonstrate an ability to manage difficult or emotional client situations.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and cultivate relationships to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
    • Skilled in engaging and working with diverse individuals and groups to accomplish established goals.
    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    Employee may be asked to pursue additional training when it is determined to be in the best interest of the company. Employee must have the ability to use a personal vehicle with the required insurance coverage to complete the essential duties of their job and conduct agency business. Employee must maintain a valid California driver's license and clean driving record that meets Wellnest's insurance carrier's criteria for liability coverage. In keeping with Company policy for all employees, the successful applicant must also complete a test for TB, and fingerprint clearance by the Department of Justice. Proof that you will be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by your employment start date. Per the CDC and Department of Public Health, individuals are considered fully vaccinated for COVID-19: two weeks or more after they have received the second dose in a 2-dose series (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna or vaccine authorized by the World Health Organization), or two weeks or more after they have received a single-dose vaccine (Johnson and Johnson [J&J]/Janssen). The Company will provide exemptions in accordance with applicable law.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Employee regularly works out in the field and in an office environment. Employee may be required to work flexible, evening and/or weekend hours for time-sensitive projects.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
    • Ability to talk or hear in order to give and receive information and instructions.

    • Ability to reach with hands and arms.
    • Ability to use computer keyboard up to 75% of the day.
    • Visual acuity, ability to adjust focus and peripheral vision for work on a laptop or other computer equipment.
    • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
    • Able to use telephone, office copier, calculator, fax machine, computer printer and scanner, or other equipment as required.
