Compensation Range:
$20/hr - $30/hr (DOE).


Employment terms:
Full Time - Non-exempt (4 x10) + OT (_as production needs_)

Monday - Thursday ; 04:45PM - 03:30AM


Role & Responsibilities:


  • The Packaging Supervisor is responsible for coordinating with the Packaging Manager, the Director of Manufacturing, assigned Project Managers, and all Packaging Technicians to facilitate and oversee the completion of all tasks needed for the Packaging Department to meet sales targets. In addition to their primary responsibilities, the Packaging Supervisor is expected to ensure that GMP and all regulatory requirements are followed within the packaging production areas.

Primary Duties (including, but not limited to):

  • Coordinating with the Packaging Manager and all Packaging technicians to schedule daily labor by process to meet sales targets for packaging vape cartridges, concentrates, edibles, etc.
  • Monitoring, maintaining, and reporting all process data generated within the Packaging department during the course of daily production. Working with the Packaging Manager on any observed data errors, outliers, or shifts in trends to stay ahead of potential issues for production.
  • Working with the Packaging Manager to update the packaging tracker, hour by hour, and SQDC boards daily, ensuring that the data collected is accurate and analyzing the data to assess daily performance.
  • Monitoring, maintaining, and reporting the inventory levels of all critical supplies needed to maintain continuous production within the packaging and printing areas. Placing supply requests as needed to maintain established par levels.
  • Monitoring, documenting, and reporting any observed issues within the packaging production areas related to safety, equipment, interpersonal, product quality, etc.
  • Completing daily batch records associated with production.
  • Auditing, inspecting, and verifying the quality of work completed within the packaging production areas.
  • Gathering data needed to monitor safety, quality, delivery, and cost within the packaging production areas.
  • Facilitation of RCA/CAPA exercises as needed to remedy issues that occur within the packaging production areas.
  • Working with the Packaging Manager to manage and complete time cards for all Packaging Technicians.
  • Scheduling the testing of completed products.
  • Facilitation of transfers of completed products from the Packaging department to the Distribution department.
  • Reporting on the daily work completed within the packaging department.
  • Completing any necessary conversions needed within the ERP system.
  • Data analysis associated with batch processing, cleaning, maintenance, etc.
  • Inspection of cleaning tasks completed by technicians.
  • Must be able to work Adobe Illustrator in order to creatively design labels needed for production.
  • Must be able to run and maintain the Afinia label printer and the DLF cutter.
  • Auditing, inspecting, and verifying the quality of work completed within the Printing department which includes, but is not limited to;
  • Quality check labels to insure all compliant information is accurately included,
  • Quality check for any discrepancies with the label (torn label, misaligned print, ink smears, etc).
  • Work well and effectively with fellow coworkers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Evaluation process:30, 60, & 90-day evaluations as well as annual reviews following this initial evaluation period.


Qualifications:


  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • 1+ year working within a GLP or GMP environment.
  • 1+ year of handson experience packaging cannabis vape cartridges, cannabis concentrates, and cannabis edibles.
  • 1+ year of experience working directly within a laboratory, commercial kitchen, or similar GMP production setting.
  • 1+ year in a leadership or supervisory level position in any industry
  • Familiarity and experience with the following regulatory & safety codes:
  • Department of Cannabis Control Medicinal and Adult-Use Commercial Cannabis Regulations, California Code of Regulations Title 4, Division 19.

Department of Cannabis Control:

  • OSHA 1910:
  • Ability to maintain internal inventory records.
  • Computer skills including cloudbased programs such as google sheets, docs, asana, etc.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Requires single lifting ability of ≤50 lbs.
  • Requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, and use of hands.
  • Frequently crouching, stooping, bending, and reaching.
