***: This position is the first phase of facilitating the successful coordination and layout of our mechanical installation work. Position requires an individual with an attention to detail and commitment to accuracy to work closely with our senior draftsman.


Duty Summary:

Work with the senior draftsman, estimating team and project management team to understand the scope of work and installation intent to accurately design and produce shop drawings and as-built drawings.


Requirements and Qualifications:


  • High energy level to handle dynamic, evolving, and fastpaced workload and ability to work on multiple projects at once.
  • Initiative; selfmotivated and driven selfstarter with high integrity.
  • Skillful listener; with excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required; mechanical engineering degree preferred.
  • Current valid driver's license for operating motor vehicles in the state of New Jersey
  • Must be punctual, dependable and be able to take initiative and be proactive
  • Embrace change in processes as the company continues to grow.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Accurately and comprehensively understand the scope of work and customer requirements to develop a design in line with the desired project outcome.
  • Develop detailed drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies/tools, and controls, using computerassisted drafting (CAD) equipment.
  • Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems
  • Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
  • Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery, using computerassisted equipment.
  • Visit site locations to validate layouts and measurements as required.
  • Position instructions and comments onto drawings.
  • Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
  • Produce closeout documents based on final site installation. As well as other duties not explicitly mentioned above as required by management
  • Working Conditions: Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including climbing ladders/stairs to view system components, maneuvering in mechanical rooms, and similar when needed
