Position Summary:


  • Responsible for planning and providing culturally connected high quality parenting education program services to meet program objectives set forth by funders and MCC

  • Signon Bonus Conditional upon satisfactory performance and completion of four (4) months of employment (introductory period + 1 month) and in good standing (incur no significant, documented corrective action and meets or exceeds introductory period performance standards) a onetime payment of $1,250 (gross pay prior to any required withholdings) to be made in the payroll covering said date
  • And Upon completion of twelve (12) months (hire date + 12 months) and in good standing (incur no significant, documented corrective action and meets or exceeds annual position performance standards), a onetime payment of $1, gross pay prior to any required withholdings) to be made in the payroll covering said date

Essential Tasks:


  • Plans and leads virtual/inperson parenting education groups for pregnant individuals and caregivers/parents of children 05 across the Delaware Valley area, but primarily in Chester and Berks County.
  • Facilitates inperson parenting education groups at correctional facilities.
  • Integrates parent/child activities and engage children into groups when applicable.
  • Conducts individual sessions to group participants identified in collaboration with the Program Manager as needing additional support and skill building.
  • Utilizes evidenceinformed Growing Great Kids curriculum.
  • Conducts pre/post surveys to measure program impact.
  • Conducts intakes, completes weekly group and individual documentation, and tracks group attendance in a timely manner as required by funders and MCC administration.
  • Inputs data into MCC's ETO database and other relevant databases per contract stipulations.
  • Refers participants to additional MCC services, outside agencies, and to informational/local community resources as needed.
  • Provides support to families in crisis with deescalation, anger management, and positive discipline techniques and parenting skills that protect children from abuse and neglect; report suspected child abuse and neglect.
  • Distributes certificates and other incentives to participants who complete their group participation.
  • Confirms caregiver participation with letters for court when requested.
  • Ensures confidentiality of client records, sharing pertinent information only with the client's approval.

Other Tasks

  • Meets regularly with supervisor to review program objectives and outcomes.
  • Meets monthly with parenting program team.
  • Ensures compliance with funder requirements and protocols.
  • Provides input for reports to funders and MCC administration as requested.
  • Attends Growing Great Kids curriculum training, MCC trainings, and other funder required trainings.
  • Participates in outreach efforts to recruit participants.
  • Represents MCC's Parenting Education programs in the community.
  • Adheres to MCC's security guidelines and ensure the appropriate handling of sensitive information.
  • Attends staff meetings to promote communication and execution of organizational goals.
  • Completes special projects specific to the function of the service area as directed by the supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope of position expectations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated group facilitation skills
  • Knowledge and interest in parenting education and skill development
  • Skilled in a trauma informed and strengthsbased approaches
  • Willingness to facilitate parenting groups in jails
  • Available to work nontraditional hours, including evenings
  • Ability to travel in and around the Delaware Valley area to provide services as needed
  • Understanding of MCC's mission, goals, and objectives and ability to work independently with a high level of energy and contribute as part of a larger team
