- Perform through and timely assessment of patient's condition including physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative aspects
- Report pertinent observations regarding the patient to the physician, and other team members
- Discuss patient care as it relates to evidence based practice/s
- Develop individualized patient care plans
- Provide education consistent with the patient/family's learning abilities and preferences
- Administer medications to patients in an accurate and timely manner
- Appropriately provide charting updates to patient's medical records
- Transcribe, verify, and carry out physician orders in an accurate and timely manner
- Recognize and respond to opportunities to enhance overall patient experience
- Precept newly employed team members and students
- Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary strategies
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned
- Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required, Bachelor's of Nursing Degree preferred
- A minimum of 1 year experience as a registered nurse in a psychiatric or behavioral health care facility preferred
- Current and valid NJ Registered Nurse license
- BLS certification required
- Strong interpersonal skills
