GENERAL MANAGER - FALMOUTH YACHT CLUB
The Falmouth Yacht Club in Falmouth, MA has an immediate opening for the General Manager position.

We are looking for our next leader who will manage and lead an extremely busy, and brand-new renovated Clubhouse and active waterfront areas.

The General Manager is responsible for the entire day to day operations of the Club. This is a year-round salaried position.

Other areas of responsibility include our private beach, busy waterfront for yachts and powerboats, and all Member events, dining, and social activities.

The GM will report directly to the Commodore (who chairs the Board of Governors)


The GM needs to have a strong relationship with members of the Board of Governors, internal Managers and their staff, and community leaders.

Integrity, openness, vision, innovation, good judgement and decision-making abilities, as well as empathy to all, will be critical factors of success.

Excellent communication skills are a priority.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, including a structured bonus program, as well as medical benefits.

  • Manage all direct report positions that include; Controller, F&B Manager, Executive Chef, Waterfront Director, Head Lifeguard. This includes all hiring, firing, scheduling, and payroll management. Also sets measurable goals and objectives and conducts yearly reviews.
  • Ensure all food and beverage management are exceptional in hospitality and service. Creates standards and sops for each department.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of the Club facility.
  • Maintain high visibility to membership and staff in a professional manner.
  • Oversees the development and creation of all operating policies & procedures.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations.
  • Promotes a compliance culture ethics, conduct, and safety.
  • Fosters an environment conducive to high morale, dedication, and performance.
  • Proper staff levels to the scope of business while maintaining budget guidelines.
  • Conducts a culture of continuous improvement for both Members and staff alike.
  • Proactively monitors the Club's financial results to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensures timely accounts payable and receivable.
  • Actively involved in the budget process.
  • Participates and attends monthly Board meetings and required committees.
  • Works closely with the Commodore and other Flag Officers in all matters dealing with FYC strategy and Member relations.
  • Communicates closely with the board, membership, and staff on all things related to the Club.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferably in a related hospitality field.
  • Seasoned proven professional with a minimum of five years' experience either as a GM, or AGM in a large private Club.
  • Strong character and high ethical values.
  • Driven leader with a strategic and visionary mindset.
  • Verifiable professionalism, leadership, management, supervisory, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a Board structure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, Jonas-Encore experience a plus.
This position is available immediately.
